Her Story
My academic career started in Nigeria in 2001, as a lecturer 3, in the foremost Adeyemi college of education, now Adeyemi University of Education. Then I proceeded to start a PhD in South Africa all the way to a postdoctoral fellowship before I eventually got a senior lecturing job at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
However along my journey, I realized that affluence does not necessarily follow brilliance in academia. I am sure you will agree with me just by looking around and by your personal and financial encounters within academia and with academic professionals.
This urged my quest and journey into academic entrepreneurship to help myself and help other colleagues to come into a mindset shift, and believe that we indeed deserve better.
I have been able to start a service and product business, strategically accelerate my career by taking advantage of the United States of America employment based /national interest waiver option to get better life opportunities. Finally, upskilling and using my transferable skills from academia has given me so much leverage to get a management ESG role in the sustainability industry.
